Blackcurrant Project
Blackcurrants are easy to grow and provide edible berries each summer.
How to grow a blackcurrant bush
- With the help of an adult, dig a small patch of ground, removing any grass or weeds. This could be in your own garden or any space you can find near where you live.
- Take the blackcurrant cutting and push the bottom end into the ground, to a depth of 10cm
- The following summer, the blackcurrant bush will grow branches and leaves. The summer after that, you will have fruit on those branches.
- If you have too much fruit to eat at once, blackcurrants can be put in the freezer.
